Education and Sponsorship

At Roots of Empathy and Hope Association, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and build a better future regardless of their family’s economic circumstances.

  • School Fees Support – Providing financial assistance to children from vulnerable and low-income families to help them remain in school.
  • School Uniform Support – Supporting children who lack proper school uniforms and other basic requirements needed to attend school with dignity.
  • Provision of Learning Materials – Providing essential educational materials such as books, stationery, mathematical sets, and other learning resources.

Orphans, Widows/Widowers & PLWC

Roots of Empathy and Hope Association supports vulnerable individuals and families within our communities, with particular attention to orphans, widows and widowers, and persons living with disabilities (PLWDs).

  • Identification and Registration of Vulnerable Families – Identifying orphans, widows, widowers, and persons living with disabilities who require community support.
  • Basic Needs Support – Providing essential food, clothing, household items, and other basic necessities to vulnerable individuals and families whenever resources permit.
  • Support for Orphans and Vulnerable Children – Assisting orphaned and vulnerable children with education, school requirements, healthcare, and other essential needs.

Gender Based Violence

Roots of Empathy & Hope Association (REHA) is committed to promoting safe, respectful, and inclusive communities free from gender-based violence (GBV). We work with communities to raise awareness, support survivors, strengthen prevention efforts, and promote access to appropriate services and protection.

  • GBV Awareness and Community Sensitisation – Conducting awareness sessions on gender-based violence, its different forms, its impact on individuals and families, and available support services.
  • Prevention and Community Education – Working with community members to challenge harmful attitudes, behaviours, and practices that contribute to violence and discrimination.
  • Survivor Support and Referral – Supporting survivors with compassionate guidance and connecting them with appropriate medical, psychosocial, legal, and protection services.

Child Right Advocacy

Roots of Empathy & Hope Association (REHA) is committed to protecting, promoting, and advocating for the rights and wellbeing of children. We believe every child deserves to grow up in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment with access to education, healthcare, protection, and opportunities to reach their full potential.

  • Child Rights Awareness – Conducting community awareness sessions on children's rights, responsibilities, protection, and wellbeing.
  • Community Sensitisation – Engaging parents, guardians, community leaders, schools, and other stakeholders on the importance of protecting and supporting children.
  • Child Protection Awareness – Promoting safe environments for children and raising awareness about child abuse, neglect, exploitation, and harmful practices.

Women Empowerment

Roots of Empathy & Hope Association (REHA) believes that empowered women and girls are essential to building strong, resilient, and prosperous families and communities. Through our Women Empowerment programme, we support women and girls to strengthen their skills, confidence, economic opportunities, and participation in community development.

  • Economic Empowerment – Supporting women with opportunities that can improve their livelihoods, financial resilience, and household wellbeing.
  • Skills Development and Training – Facilitating access to vocational, entrepreneurial, digital, agricultural, and other practical skills.
  • Entrepreneurship Support – Encouraging women to establish and grow small businesses and income-generating activities.

Youth, Sports and Talent Nurturing

Roots of Empathy and Hope Association recognises young people as an important part of the present and future of our communities. Through our Youth, Sports and Talent Nurturing Programme, we create opportunities for young people to discover their abilities, develop their skills, build confidence, and participate positively in community life.

  • Youth Talent Identification – Identifying young people with talents and abilities in sports, music, performing arts, creative arts, technology, and other areas.
  • Sports Development and Training – Organising and supporting sporting activities such as football, athletics, volleyball, netball, and other community sports.
  • Community Sports Tournaments – Organising youth tournaments and sporting events that promote teamwork, discipline, healthy lifestyles, and positive interaction.

Environment and Climate Justice

Roots of Empathy & Hope Association (REHA) recognises that environmental sustainability and climate justice are essential to the wellbeing and future of communities. We work with communities to promote environmental responsibility, protect natural resources, strengthen climate resilience, and encourage sustainable practices.

  • Tree Planting and Reforestation – Mobilising communities, schools, youth groups, and other stakeholders to plant and care for trees and restore degraded areas.
  • Environmental Conservation Awareness – Conducting community sensitisation on environmental protection, conservation, and responsible use of natural resources.
  • Climate Change Awareness – Educating communities about climate change, its impacts, and practical actions that can strengthen local resilience.

Water and Sanitation

Roots of Empathy & Hope Association (REHA) recognises access to safe water, adequate sanitation, and good hygiene as essential to healthy and dignified living. Through our Water and Sanitation programme, we work with communities to improve access to safe water and promote sustainable hygiene and sanitation practices.

  • Community Water Access Support – Supporting initiatives that improve access to safe and reliable water for vulnerable households and communities.
  • Water Point Development and Rehabilitation – Supporting the development, repair, and rehabilitation of community water points where resources permit.
  • Water Treatment and Safe Storage Awareness – Educating households on practical ways of treating, storing, and handling drinking water safely.
