Regional Secretary
Ruth Awuor Ndegwa serves as the Regional Secretary of the Roots of Empathy & Hope Association (REHA). She is a compassionate and dedicated professional committed to advancing the organisation's mission through effective administration, leadership, community service, and support for vulnerable populations.
Ruth holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Maseno University and is a Certified Nurse Assistant, having completed her training at First America Health Institute. Her multidisciplinary background in social work and healthcare enables her to contribute meaningfully to programmes focused on community wellbeing, social protection, psychosocial support, and access to quality care.
She has served as a Counselling Assistant and County Social Worker, gaining valuable experience in psychosocial support, case management, community outreach, and advocacy for vulnerable individuals and families. Her professional experience has strengthened her ability to provide culturally sensitive, respectful, and individual-centred support to people facing social, economic, and personal challenges.
As Regional Secretary of REHA, Ruth supports the organisation's governance, administration, communication, and programme coordination. Her responsibilities include coordinating meetings, maintaining official records, facilitating communication among members and stakeholders, and supporting the planning and implementation of regional programmes. She works closely with the leadership team to strengthen organisational effectiveness, accountability, and coordination.
Ruth is passionate about empowering vulnerable communities, promoting social justice, protecting human dignity, and building partnerships that create lasting positive impact.
